I know its already SUNDAY (a whole week from my trip), but I am just now getting around to updating you all about my fabulous weekend in Las Vegas. My girlfriends and I flew out for my bachelorette party – and it was AMAZING. It was everything I would have wanted it to be and with some pretty fabulous ladies. I wished all my bridesmaids could be there to celebrate and have fun, but it was still an awesome time.

Flying from Seattle to Las Vegas!
I love Las Vegas. I think its a great place to get away – although I’m not quite sure what it would be like to live there. Alas, I enjoy my vacations there – lots to see and check out, great food options (albeit pricey sometimes) and great entertainment. I was there about 10 months ago in January to celebrate Luke’s homecoming from deployment.
We definitely upgraded this time to a nicer hotel – a suite at the Venetian. It was on sale when we purchased our trip, and it included a free upgrade to a suite! If its one thing I’ve learned about Las Vegas, its that the place is always on sale – somewhere.

Suite at the Venetian
Kirsten and I got into Vegas around 7:30pm and Lisa got in from Atlanta around 9pm – we all got ready for a night out on the town. With a snack in our tummies, we headed one hotel over to the Palazzo for a night at LAVO. In our room was a sheet of coupons, that included a line pass and VIP so we took advantage.
What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas, so I’ll spare you the details – but we all went to bed around 4am.
The next day was spent sleeping until noon
and then heading over to the Bellagio for a bite to eat. We all really wanted breakfast, and the snack bar in the casino had a delicious breakfast bagel with two eggs, cheese and four slices of bacon! I’m kind of drooling just thinking about it now.
My roommate from Boulder, Rya was in town with her bf so we met up with them after brunch at the MGM Grand. The lions were on display, but they were passed out asleep. I guess lions sleep for 18-21 hours each day – pretty awesome. Rya and I caught up on life a little bit and we all made our way back to the Venetian to lay by the pool and chat. I miss Rya – we have so many memories from my years in Boulder.
Around 7:30, we parted ways and Lisa and Kirsten and I spent the next hour getting ready for dinner and another night out. Lisa dolled me up with makeup and curled my hair and I seriously felt amazing
They gave me a Bride tiara and Bachelorette sash to wear and we were out the door. We ate at Postrio, a Wolfgang Puck place at the Canal Shoppes. It was SO delicious – I splurged and got a plate of gnocchi with rich red sauce and sausage, while Kirsten got a delicious and crispy fish dish and Lisa had a succulent flatiron steak, medium rare with a dirty martini. With a glass of red sangria, I was stuffed!
The restaurant comped us a mascarpone cheese and chocolate ganache crusted cheesecake topped with figs and sauce. I loved the cheesecake, and the figs were all right
We parted off back to our hotel with all intentions to go to XS – the hot club in Encore, but we met some girls in the cab line who were going to TRYST at the Wynn. The cab line was 25-30 minutes long, so we decided to hop in a limo SUV with the girls and split our fare – turned out great for us because they had VIP plus two free drinks at TRYST! So score – two nights in a row we didn’t have to pay for anything but food
TRYST has an amazing setup on the inside – not that LAVO wasn’t nice, but as soon as you walk into TRYST, there is a huge waterfall and the DJ spinning in front of it. The place was packed, but we really had a great time out
Another 4am night.
Our checkout time was noon, so we packed up the next morning and put our luggage in storage for the afternoon. We all had later evening flights back home. We spent the afternoon by the pool, listening to music from the nearby Azure pool party, sipping on Diet Cokes, talking girl talk, the wedding and soaking up the sun. It was in that moment that I missed my friends so much – it felt so nice to just lay by the pool and be girls.
We said our final goodbyes to Las Vegas with Gelato and headed back towards home via the Las Vegas Airport. See ya again soon, Las Vegas!
